Our work

Four landscapes, one rule: native trees that survive

Hill restoration, farm forestry, mangroves and urban mini-forests.

Gurugram and Faridabad

Aravalli restoration

We plant only native Aravalli species, dig water-harvesting trenches, and protect saplings for three years until they can survive on their own.

  • Native species only, grown in our nursery
  • Contour trenches to hold monsoon rain
  • Three years of watering and protection

1,80,000 trees planted since 2015 (sample)

Jhansi and Lalitpur

Farm forestry

Farmers choose fruit and timber trees for the edges of their fields. We supply saplings, training and drip lines, and they keep every fruit.

  • Saplings and drip irrigation at no cost
  • Training with the local agricultural university (sample)
  • Farmers own the trees and the fruit

2,400 farming families

Gosaba and Patharpratima

Mangrove belts

Women's groups raise mangrove saplings and plant them along embankments, earning a wage and protecting their villages from storm surges.

  • Planted and paid to local women's groups
  • Survival checked every quarter
  • Embankments mapped with GPS

74% survival after three years (sample)

Pune

Urban mini-forests

Small plots planted densely with 40 native species grow into thick, cool forests in three years, with schools as their caretakers.

  • Plots from 1,000 sq ft
  • Schools adopt and monitor their forest
  • Bird and butterfly counts every season

38 mini-forests in Pune
