About us
We started with one hill and a lot of watering cans.
In 2015 a group of neighbours began planting native trees on a bare Aravalli slope behind their colony (sample story). They learned the hard way that planting is easy and survival is everything.
Today Hara Bhara plants in four landscapes with local communities paid to plant and protect, and reports survival, not just numbers planted.
What guides us
Native first
We plant species that belong to the landscape, never ornamental fillers.
Survival over numbers
We report how many trees live, not just how many went in.
Local hands
Planting and care are paid work for people who live nearby.
Open data
GPS locations and survival counts for every site.

In their words
I planted 25 trees for my daughter's first birthday. Every year we get a photo of how tall they've grown.
Neha Arora, Gurugram (sample)
The mango trees on my field's edge gave their first fruit this summer. My son wants to plant more.
Ramkishan Ahirwar, farmer, Lalitpur (sample)
We had our whole office plant in the Aravallis for a day. The survival reports were refreshingly honest.
