Our story
We started with one block and one family of printers.
Tanvi Threads began in 2019 when our founder, Tanvi, spent a monsoon in Bagru learning to print with the Chhipa family. She wanted clothes she could wear every day that kept their craft alive (sample story).
Today we work with 40 printer families, pay them before the cloth is sold, and put the printer's name on every tag. We use natural dyes where we can, cotton grown in India, and packaging made from offcuts.
What we promise
Fair pay, paid first
Printers are paid when the cloth is printed, not when it sells.
Natural dyes
Indigo, madder, pomegranate and iron, where the colour allows.
